Forever Our Sunshines

This Morning Ivan and I did the March of Dimes Walk America 2006. The team we walked with was called Forever Our Sunshines. Karen's goal was to raise $1000.00 and she raised double that! I am glad that we did it, and all I could think about the whole time was Sofia. Next year Sofie will be able to join the team and hang out in her stroller! The picture on the left is of the team.

Today, Sofia has had some things changed! They turned off her O2 and her sats stayed at 100% so they were able to keep her off and remove the canulas from her nose. So now the only thing on her face is her feeding tube which is in her nose. They are continuing to increase her feedings by 1 ml every twelve hours and are decreasing her TPN also by .05 every twelve hours. She is at 15 ml on feedings and that will incres at midnight and her TPN is at 1.5. So at midnight tomorrow night she should be taken off the TPN. Right now that is the only thing they are using her central line for, so that should be removed in a couple of days. They have also started back up on weaning the Methadone and Sofie seems to be tolerating it very well. The nurse said that she should be more alert now. She can be given Morphine on an as need basis, but they have not had to give her any at all. They have a rating chart that they have to follow and she got real close a couple of times, but has not needed it. We haven't been told anything about going home, but I was told once before that when they schedule you for the infant CPR class that that is a sign that

the time is coming near and we have been scheduled to take it on Tuesday! So, I am pretty excited about that. The picture of Sofia and I is one we took on Mother's Day and I just now downloaded it and wanted to share it with you all.

I have added the link to Baby Jolee who was born on May 17 with CDH. Please check out her site and keep her and her family in your prayers. Thank you all for reading and keeping updated. I will post again soon. Please keep Sofie and all CDH babies in your prayers. God Bless

Love, Catherine
