Time to Eat!

Sofia finally started her feedings today, though it is only 1 ml an hour! at least her little tummy will stop feeling so hungry. Tonight Sofie will graduate and be moved to the "Not so Sick" side of the NICU. I think she cries too much for the other babies around her! I love to hear her cry, though. When you don't hear your baby cry for almost 3 weeks it is one of the most welcoming sounds ever! She still doesn't seem to understand what is going on when we hold her, but I think she is getting used to it. They started her on Methadone last night to help wean her off the other meds. I am not sure I spelled that right, so I apologize! This has really helped her to calm down and sleep better. Sofia was camera shy today and cried the whole time the Children's Miracle Network was interviewing! But, her nurse put some grape flavored sweet stuff on her pacifier and she loved it and calmed down! She is spoiled already!
Today I found out that Baby Parker, who was expected June 20, was born Sunday, May 7 and passed away Monday, May 8. I don't have any of the details of what happened, but please keep her parents, Jessica and Ashley, and their Family in your prayers. I had posted Parker's Link only a couple of weeks ago, but you can go to it to post comments to her Family.
Well, I am going to go back to the hospital now, we will update soon. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and please keep praying Sofia, Audrey, Jackson, Jaylyn and Andrew and all CDH babies. God Bless
Love, Catherine
P.S. I have tried several times to post pictures to the blog, but it isn't working. So, if you want to see the newest pics go to Sofia's Pictures on the right hand side of the blog and click on the photo album titled "Big Girl Bed!"

Cat,

There is one of your new pictures where you and Sofia are just staring at each other. She seems to be totally taking you in. It's beautiful.

Sofia sure is a fighter! She is doing so well! The pictures of you guys holding her are just beautiful! You can tell she knows who mommy and daddy are. She is precious and I just love her big eyes! People will probably always comment on her beautiful eyes. My daughter just turned 1 and she had big expressive eyes at Sofia's age too and still does. We hear numerous comments about her eyes. I am sure you guys will too! But her eyes really are big and beautiful! I know you guys must be so proud and on cloud 9 for finally getting to hold your angel! Congratulations!!!

Prayers for Sofia,
Tasha

Love and tendernous are evident in both of your eyes as reflection of your little miracle Sofia. I became very choked up when viewing the photo's of each of you holding your precious daughter for the first time. Thank you for sharing such special moments with all of us!

Sofia, you are doing awesome! I just always got a kick out of people saying "Wow, she has some lungs on her" when Leah would be crying in the NICU (she could be the loudest at times, too!). If they only knew, but that has never stopped her from making noise! :) Weaning off the pain meds is hard, we went through some tough times during that. She looks so good! Take care!
