2 Month Check Up

We had Sofia's 2 month appointment today with a new Doctor. I wasn't comfortable with the one we saw last week, so I made sure I found a new one before this weeks appointment. I love her, she seems great and made me feel comfortable. Sofia now weighs 10lbs and is 23 inches long! Sofie is on track developmentally. I have been asked to try and go back to complete breastfeeding and I will, it will just take a few days to get back on track with it schedule wise. But, the Doctor thinks Sofia may be lactose intolerant, so I have to watch what I am eating and drinking now. I have been given a prescription for lactose free formula, too for when I need it. Her Doctor also had me take her off the Reglan. Sofia has only ever spit up 3 times and that was in the hospital when they were making her complete her feeds by bottle and she didn't want to, so they basically forced her to take the rest. Anyway, I have not given her any Reglan since 6am today and she is doing great. Today Sofia decided that it was time for us to increase the amount of milk she was getting, too! So, now she is eating almost a whole 4 ounces. Last week at her follow up the Doctor gave her the first Hepatitus vaccine in the series of three, so today she had to get four individual shots even though they now have a combo of all the vaccines, but it includes the hepatitus and she couldn't get that again just yet. I felt so bad and it made me dislike last weeks Doctor even more! So, she got two shots in each thigh. That was only the second time I have ever seen my baby cry and have actual tears! Sofie has been sleeping most of the day, she wakes up about every three hours to eat and be changed and then sleeps again. She is really worn out and plus I gave her some Tylenol. I hope she sleeps thru the night, though!

Well, it is almost time for her to wake up so I will write more soon. Sofia has her first appointment with the Surgeon next Tuesday and then has another follow up with her Pediatrician in 2 weeks. Thank you all so much for continuing to follow our journey andfor keeping Sofia in your prayers. Please also keep all CDH babies in your prayers.

Love, Catherine
