Baby Jackson has had a reherniation and will have another repair surgery tomorrow. Please say a special prayer for Jackson and his family.
Also, please keep Baby Mert's parents in your prayers, too. They found out last week that they will be induced on July 3rd. This is about 15 days early. Again, the hospital they are at in Turkey does not have ECMO and the only have 1 High Frequency Oscillator Vent. They are expecting another CDH baby soon and that is the doctors reason for wanting to induce. They have an appointment tomorrow, well actually they are probably there now with the time difference, to finalize everything with the doctors and for the final checkup.
Last week, Baby Joseph's parents got some very disturbing news. They found out that Joey's CDH is actually on the right side and not the left. Right sided hernia's are worse than left sided ones. When Joey is born they will do exit to ECMO which means that Joey will be put on ECMO before the umbilical cord can be cut. With the hernia on the right side it is sometimes harder to get the canulas in the neck. Joey needs ECMO to survive. After Joey is placed on ECMO he will be operated on immediately. Being operated on while on ECMO is also very dangerous. Please keep this precious baby and his parents and family in your prayers.
Audrey and Julia both continue to do very well. Audrey needs to increase the amount of her feedings and put on a little more weight in order to go home! Julia may be off the vent in about a week! Please continue to keep these baby girls and their parents and families in your prayers, too.
Tomorrow we have Sofia's first folow up appointment with her surgeon. Again, I really hope that they do some xrays. It will really put my mind at ease. This weekend has been so crazy since we have been moving into our new place, but it has been so much fun finally putting her nursery together. I will post pictures of it once I have it complete!
