Update on Sofia & Mert

So at first I felt like one of those crazy new moms who takes the baby to the doctor for every little thing, which I guess I am, but this time there was something wrong. Sofia has been having a hard time breathing. I feel so terrible cause I didn't know, but there was really no way for me to know that that was what was wrong. She would be asleep for about 10 minutes and then would wake up screaming. She did this for about 24 hours. The doctor said that her breaths are too long and that she is struggling to take a breath. My poor baby. So, now she is back on Nebulizer treatments. She gets Pulmicort twice a day and then Albuterol as needed up to 6 times a day. I have already had to give it to Sofie 2 times today cause she keeps wheezing, coughing and sneezing. The doctor says that her breathing problems are of course due to the fact that she has weak lungs and they have been thru so much trauma. We go back for a follow up in 2 weeks. I feel so bad now that I got her ears pierced cause that means that she was working herself harder to cry and she didn't even need to go thru that pain. Ugh.... Anyway, since her last appointment 6 days ago, Sofia gained 8 ounces! She is now 11lbs 8oz! She is such a little piggy! Sofie's doctor is happy with the weight gain, though, especially since a lot of CDH babies have feeding problems and weight gain issues. Not my little chunk!

Please say a special prayer for Baby Mert. I just read that he is now in surgery. From what his parent's have posted he is doing quite well, and must be if they are already doing his repair surgery. Please pray for a speedy recovery for this precious baby. Mert's Daddy usually updates when it is the middle of the night our time, again, I am not sure of the time difference between here and Turkey.
