Hello 2007!

I know it is a little late, but
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I can not even begin to tell you all how glad I am to see 2006 go, but at the same time I am a little saddened cause that was the year I had the biggest life changes ever. 2006 was an extremely hard, dfficult, sad, depressing, and emotional year I have ever dealt with, but it had the happiest ending ever! My life with my sweet Sofia. Sofie has definately made me a much stronger person than I thought I could be. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have met some of the world's strongest Parents and Grandparents and some of the best, most supportive friends I could have ever asked for. I thank you all for all your love and support throughout this past year. Most of these wonderful people are from an online support group for CDH called Breath of Hope. I have mentioned this group before. I have been a part of this group for almost a year now and I don't know how I would have made it through some of the things I did last year without them. We recently have had a few expecting Mommies who are all expecting around this Spring. It reminded me so much of Jana, Kimberly, Lauren, Jenn, Jess and myself last year. I really miss being pregnant, but I am so glad that the hard part is over and done with. I wish each and everyone of you all the best for 2007!
Sofia is doing awesome! She is getting so big! New Year's weekend her cousin, Gisela who is a month older than her, was in town and since then Sofia has been crawling the right way, no more commando crawling. Sofia also learned how to get herself to sit up on her own, it is the cutest thing ever! The biggest news of all is that on New Year's Day we saw Sofia's first tooth and it poked through the next day! It is her bottom left tooth. There still isn't much of it visible yet, but she can sure bite with it! Today was the first time that she smiled and you could actually see it. It is just adorable! Yesterday, I took Sofie to the park for the first time and she loved it! She enjoyed watching all the kiddos running and playing and really loved when Mommy and her friend Laura attempted going across the monkey bars! I have to admit it was pretty hilarious. A lot harder than it looks and harder than I remember! I guided her down the slides a few times and then we went to the bigger playground for 5-12 year olds and Mommy and Laura! I got on the swings and held her then we found the baby swings. She loved them! Gavin, Laura's son, was in the swing next to her and they both were cracking up. They were so pooped they both fell asleep on the walk home. My biggest problem with Sofie right now is that she falls 2 or 3 times a day! There is a new bruise or bump everyday! Now with her tooth I am so scared she will bite through her lip. She can pull herself up to stand and tries to walk from one thing to another, she just doens't get that she can't do it yet, that is where we get most of the falls from. I feel like she is trying to do things too fast! Where did my little baby go??!!!!!

Well, Sofia took a late nap and just woke up, it is 9:30pm! Good job, Mommy! Anyway, I will post some more soon. The top picture of Sofia is Christmas with ALL her toys! She is wearing the beautiful dress that my Nan in England had made for her. The middle one Sofie is gumming her favorite teething snack, Twizzlers! The bottom one is a picture of all the Christmas cards we recieved this year, most of them from BOH. Thank you all for the wonderful cards! Thanks again for all your prayers! God Bless

Love, Catherine
