I am writing to let you all know that Avery passed away last night. She was 17 days old. Please keep her Mommy, Lauren, and their Family in your prayers. Lauren has posted some very beautiful pictures of her little Avery after they took off all her tubes. You can see these pictures and read about Avery's battle with CDH on Lauren's blog.

CDH is a very, very serious birth defect, I can't express that enough. It is not the same as having a premature baby, and I say this because that is what I get people telling me all the time that "they can work miracles with premature babies now." It isn't the same. CDH babies have really long hard battles ahead of them and it really sucks because we (parents) live every day during our pregnancies knowing what our babies are going to face. Some of my closest family members and friends are just now starting to realize how serious CDH is. Please try and read the page that I put a link to called "What is CDH?". I tried to pick a website that I thought explained it very well, so I hope it does. I don't mind talking about it, so if you have any questions please ask me. Thank you all again for all your prayers for Sofia and for all CDH babies.

Dear Catherine, I log-on to your blog every night for an update on how you and baby Sofia are getting along and pass on any info to the rest of the family. I'm really saddened by your news today about baby Avery as I was only just looking at the pictures of her and her family last night. She was such a beautiful little girl. Catherine love, please stay strong and positive at this sad time. I Will post a message to baby Avery's mum to let her know we are thinking about her.
