Another Quick Update!

Well, still no word on whether or not surgery will be tomorrow or Wednesday! I did speak with the surgeon this morning and he said that if there was room on the schedule than it would be tomorrow, if not Wednesday. Sofia's Neonatologist wants it to be tomorrow, though. I have not signed the consent forms for surgery yet, so I am thinking it will be Wednesday. Although the nurses tell me that the surgeons are known for coming in the evening to talk to us and to have us sign the forms, so we will see. Sofia is now off the Magnesium Sulfate and the Dopamine. Her third chest tube was removed this morning, too. We had a bit of a scare last night and my baby turned blue in front of us and stopped moving and crying. It was pretty scary especially when Ivan looks at me and tells me to go to the front of the NICU so I am not watching what is happening to Sofie. But, she is better now. She had a plug of blood blocking her vent tube and it was so large that they were having a hard time removing it. Her heart rate dropped to the 30's and her blood pressure went up and her sats really dropped. They thought I was having high blood pressure problems before, I can't even begin to imagine what it was last night. They didn't have to sedate her after the procedure and she has only been sedated once today at 9am, so she is tolerating everything pretty well.
Now, to update on the other CDH babies we have been following. Baby Jackson seems to be doing great! His Mommy has pictures posted of him in a bouncy chair! I can't wait till we can take Sofia out of her isolate. They are weaning Jackson off of his vent. Go Jackson! Baby Audrey is coming very soon! Also, I have added a new link to Baby Parker who is expected around June 20. Lauren, has a new blog that she has done to update on how she is doing and what she is feeling. Jana, also continues to post on Drew's blog. These two Mommies have been so strong. Please continue to keep all CDH babies and their families in your prayers.
Well, again we will update as soon as we know something. My Nan and my Aunt Teri from England have decided to fly in from England! They will be here tomorrow and I can't wait for them to meet Sofie. Thank you all for your prayers, please keep them coming! Take care and God Bless
Love, Catherine
