35 Weeks!

Well no 3D pictures this week! It was a pretty quick appointment. Everything went very well, Sofia is looking good and so is her heart. She is getting so big! My BH contractions have slowed down a lot from last week and that makes me really happy! I do have an appointment this Wednesday with my OB who I haven't seen in 3 weeks. So, starting this week I will have 2 appointments every week. Both the doctors that I am seeing were seeing another lady who was pregnant with a CDH baby, and she had her baby over the weekend. As of today her baby was doing well and not on ECMO. They are also at Santa Rosa since that is the only hospital in all of South Texas with ECMO other than Wilford Hall which is Military. I am sure we will meet them once Sofia is here. They only have 2 machines and 2 beds that they will keep these babies in. So their baby and Sofia will be neighbors for a while. She delivered at 37 1/2 weeks, so we may be very surprised when Sofia decides to make her first appearance and start her fight!

I am adding another link to a blog for Baby Jax. He is now about 9 months old and a CDH survivor. His fight is not over yet though. If you have read up on CDH you know that these babies have a lot of obstacles to overcome and it can take years. I have met Moms that have 9 and 10 year olds that are still having some problems. Jax's Mommy, Sheri, is a very strong women and gives great support to many of us. Jax is her 3rd son with CDH, but her only survivor. This is very rare and doctors have only heard of this happening 1 other time. The chances of having consecutive CDH births is usually only a 2% chance. Sheri is full of knowledge and we (CDH Mommies) are very blessed to have her support. Baby Avery seems to be doing very well. She has not been put on ECMO. YEAH! Baby Drew will probably have his operation to repair his diaphram some time this week. And, Baby Jackson will have another trial off ECMO tomorrow. Please continue to keep all these babies in your prayers.

I want to say CONGRATULATIONS! to Ivan's brother, Ariel and his wife Fabiola on the birth of their baby girl Gisela Isabel, who was born 3-19-06. I will update again, probably on Wednesday after my appointment. Thank you all for reading and for keeping our Sofia in your prayers.
