Well, we were able to get a couple more 3D pictures today! Sofia is getting so big that the pictures are getting harder to see. The second one she was getting aggrevated with the Sonographer and decided to throw her head back and open her mouth! Her litttle lips look like a cartoon drawing of a little choir angel or she is screaming!! No measurements again this week, but they will do them next week, if we make it there. Dr. Higby, my Maternal Fetal Care, P.A., said to please try and make it to my appointment next week! I think he is a little afraid that Sofia wants to com
e sooner! I did wake up this morning and my belly looked like a slide, it has dropped so much more. I do feel like Sofia will come this week, but that may just be my nerves. But, something keeps telling me this week! The first thing I did after I noticed my belly this morning was call my Dad, Papa, and tell him that Sofia was probably coming this week and that he was going to have to cancel his fishing trip this weekend! I wouldn't be surprised though if she did cause his last Grandbaby, Noah, came during one of his fishing trips almost 3 years ago. We'll see what happens! I see my OB again this Wednesday and he will start checking to see if I am dialating yet. I am kinda nervous about this appointment, I have heard how much fun they can be! I just recently changed OB's cause the last one I had wanted to deliver Sofia by c-section this week! He just wanted to do it for convenience though and Ivan and I felt that it was safer for Sofie to come on her own when she was ready. So, this OB that I have is great! He makes me feel really comfortable and sits and talks with me about everything that is getting ready to happen. He also just delivered another CDH baby almost 2 weeks ago. It is a long drive to his office, though, but the drive is so worth it!
So, Dr. Higby called the hospital to see how the other CDH baby here at Santa Rosa was doing. They said that he was doing good and hasn't had to go on ECMO. He also had his hernia repair surgery last Friday by the same surgeons that will be operating on Sofia. Dr. Higby also talked to the the surgeons today to let them know that Sofie will be here soon! Ivan and I met with one of the surgeons in January and they seem really great and we were both happy with them. Baby Avery also had her hern
ia repair surgery this past Friday and is doing well. She has had a few set backs since then, but still hasn't been placed on ECMO which is very good. Lauren, Avery's Mommy, posted some pictures on her blog of Avery after her surgery and you can see where her little incision is. She said it is about 2 inches long, but that seems huge on a little baby. Baby Drew was taken on ECMO this weekend and is doing well. Baby Jackson had to go through them swapping out his ECMO machine. I guess these machines usually only last about 2 weeks and then they have to be changed out for a new one. Jenn is just waiting for her baby, Audrey, like me. Again, please keep all these babies and all CDH babies in your prayers.
Okay, I am done rambling on and on! I will try and post on Wednesday after my appointment. Just in case I go into labor early, there is a link to the hospital contact information if you need the number there, or Ivan will have both of our cell phones with him. Other than posting the news on the blog we will try and make some personal phone calls to let you all know. Sofia will be Baptized as soon as we can have it done so we will let you know when that will be. Thank you all for your support and prayers. God Bless
