Today they have weaned the Pavulon down half way. That is the medication that keeps Sofie paralyzed. If she continues to tolerate it they will completely take her off of it tonight at 9pm. So, hopefully we will finally get to see our baby awake! She will still be sedated, though. They were weaning her Dopamine every hour and by now she should be off that, too. Now they are weaning her Dobutamine. Sofia has 3 chest tubes in, but her left one isn't doing anything anymore, so they are going to clamp it tomorrow morning and if she tolerates it they will remove it on Friday morning. She will still have her 2 right ones in, though. The Doc told us today that we are getting closer to surgery, but no time frame for that yet. Since they weaned her Pavulon Sofia has had tears coming from her eyes. It makes me so sad when I see them and wipe them up. Ivan even wanted to keep the gauze I wiped them with! Her temperature was low last night so the nurse found some booties for her that were made by Threads of Love. Her nurse this morning said she was surprised that they found a pair that fit her cause the things they make usually only fit preemies! Sofie has some big feet! I don't have any pictures of her from today, but I will post them tomorrow. I do have the pictures that her Daddy has taken and those will be in Sofia's Pictures if you want to see them. We will be staying with her tonight, so that is why I am posting early. I will update again tomorrow. Please keep Sofia and all CDH babies in your prayers.
