Pictures

We just came home from our evening visit with Sofia and she is still doing well. We found out that there was no reason, or should I say no actual order that said that Sofie had to be on her left side. So, her nurse had her on her back and most of her swelling was gone. They have weaned her NO down to 20 and her O2 was still at 58. They have started to wean the Pavulon which is the med that paralyzes her. They aren't exactly trying to wake her up they are just weaning her from what she doesn't need. So, they said that if we noticed her moving to let them know cause then they would have to increase it again. They are still continuing to wean her meds for her blood pressure and she seems to be doing very well. Now, about that bath, Sofia still hasn't had her bath or her hair washed. They told us that with all the weaning that they are doing that they don't want to agitate her and make sure that she tolerates all the weaning well. Anyway, I just wanted to post some of the pictures that we took this evening. Ivan has the pics of her all swollen on his camera and those will be posted later along with a ton of other pictures he has. The nurse that makes Sofia's bows hasn't worked in a while so she still doesn't have a new bow, but she is still adorable. On the drive home, Ivan and I talked about how pretty she looked tonight and despite the fact she hasn't had a bath she still has a clean baby scent that stays on us. I can't wait till all of you can enjoy our Sofia as much as we do! Please keep Sofia and all CDH babies in you prayers.

Love, Catherine
P.S. Sofia's Lovie Doll is a doll given to all NICU babies along with blankets, booties, caps and journals for the mommies that are made and donated by a volunteer group called Threads of Love. The doll is for mommies to carry on them and then given to their baby so that the baby has something with their mommy's scent. Thank you Karen and all Threads of Love volunteers!

I am happy to hear that Sofia is doing so well. She is a beautiful little girl. I love the idea of the doll! That is such a great idea. I am sure that Sofia recognizes your scent and it is probably very soothing.

Hugs and prayers for Sofia,
Tasha
